Small town girl

My name is Logan Whittington. Not many girls have the name Logan but I've always liked it. My mom just happened to hear the name on the Bold and the Beautiful a couple of day before I was born and she decided to just drop the name Laura Lee and name me Logan. I'm quite glad that she did because I would've hated to be called Laura Lee. I grew up in the small town of Kilbourne, LA which is right on the Arkansas/Louisiana state line. In fact, the two states are so close that if you live on one side of the road you're a Louisiana resident but if you live on the other side you're an Arkansas resident. Fortunately I grew up on the Louisiana side and so far I haven't dated any of my cousins. Living in a small town had its ups and downs. For instance, if you went to a party on a Saturday night and drank a few beer, your mama would know it before you did. Every teacher at school was a friend of your parents so you didn't get away with much there either. But altogether, I like growing up in a small town. Everyone was close knit and shared a bond. People in small towns genuinely have a good heart and care. While everyone might be in your business, at least you know it because they care about you.

Now that I've moved to Monroe, many things are different. I can drive ten minutes instead of an hour to get to the mall. I can actually go somewhere without seeing someone who knows me. I can drink a beer and my mom not find out about it. It's things like this that I like about living in a bigger city. I like the convenience of the city but it has its downfalls too such as 5 o'clock traffic. But no matter where I live, I've discovered on thing: I'll always be a small town girl at heart. My roots are in Kilbourne and I will carry a piece of small town life with me wherever I go.
